At the dawn of the third millennium, OMEGA presents an innovation that redefines the entire theory of mechanical watchmaking.

The escapement is the heart of every mechanical watch and the basic theory behind it has remained unchanged for over 200 years. Today, OMEGA breaks the mould with a totally new design, the Co-Axial escapement, developed in conjuction with master watchmaker George Daniels.

The new design is based on double Co-Axial escape wheel, a lever with three pallet stones and impulse stone on the balance roller, together with a free sprung-balance. The Co-Axial system reduces sliding friction compared with the lever escapement and thus ensures greater accuracy over time.

The Bentley Motors chronograph cultivates originality, but permeated by an eminently British sense of refinement and moderation. The gaze is immediately struck by the knurled finishing on the bezel, inspired by the Bentley control buttons. The case is distinguished by its imposing diameter.

Breitling has combined this original design with an exclusive technical touch. The Bentley Motors chronograph features a unique mechanism known as the “30-second” type chronograph. The centre hand sweeps once around the dial in half a minute instead of the customary 60 seconds, an astonishing configuration that enables extremely accurate read-off to within 1/8th of a second. This distinctive feature is part of Calibre 25B, a movement stemming from the Breitling Chronométrie workshops and which is officially chronometer-certified, as indeed are all Breitling movements.

In tribute to the automobile world, the Bentley Motors is equipped with another world exclusive feature, the “variable tachometer”, which enables one to measure average speed, regardless of the time elapsed, the distance covered or the speed reached.

The "Sonata" is the world's first mechanical wristwatch alarm that can be set to be activated within 24 hours. Normally, this is only possible within twelve hours. If it is, say, 4 p.m. now, and you set a conventional alarm watch to wake you up at 7 a.m., it will chime already at 7 p.m., because the mechanism cannot differentiate bewteen a.m. and p.m. On the "Sonata" you can set the alarm time exactly to the minute to any time a.m. or p.m., as you like.

Krieger Tidal Wave Chronoscope

The original Krieger Tidal Chronometer launched a revolution in marine watches. Ever since its introduction some two decades ago, it has served the needs of weekend mariners and professional sportsmen alike, becoming the most revered and imitated watch in recent maritime history. Justifiably acclaimed for its ability to accurately display the present state of the tides and to predict with uncanny precision just how many hours till the next high or low tide.

Which is why the introduction of an all new Krieger Tidal Wave ChronoscopeTM is nothing less than a momentus occasion.

Suddenly, every other watch in the category is out of its depth, a mere plaything when pitted against this new Krieger masterpiece. Immensely strong, each Tidal Wave ChronoscopeTM is hand-made in Switzerland by expert craftsmen. Its casing is machined from a solid block of stainless steel, and fitted with a double dome sapphire crystal. Anti-reflective coating adds superior optical clarity.

While the water resistances of other ordinary watches are measured in feet, the Tidal Wave is measured in miles, with a water resistance rating to almost one-half-mile (2640 feet).

The watch is boldly oversized, to make for easy reading even in a blinding gale. The large tide indicator hand rotates clockwise to indicate the state of the tide. Detailed sub-dial provides for the tidal range, neap and spring tides. Screw down pushbuttons enable the wearer to quickly set the tides and moon phase at a moment's notice. The manually rotating bezel is engraved with a solar compass.
